Draught Ale

The following list contains all known draught real ale outlets in Northern Ireland and ones expected to open shortly.

For fuller details of many of them, including beers, food and facilities available, we recommend that you purchase a copy of CAMRA's 'Good Beer Guide'.

We also recommend that before visiting any of the outlets shown you ring to check if real ale is available. Some allow children in, and many also offer food but, again, check.

Bottled Conditioned Beers

Bottle conditioned beer is real ale in a bottle. It will still have yeast in the bottle which will make it cloudy if not poured carefully.

Some outlets known to regularly stock bottle conditioned beers are:

Supermarkets

  • Tesco
  • Sainsburys
  • The Vintage, Antrim
  • The Vinyard, Ormeau Road, Belfast

Specialist Off-Licences

  • The Vintage, Antrim
  • The Vinyard, Ormeau Road, Belfast
  • Grape Expectations
       20 The Square, Ballyclare
  • Gap Wines, Antrim Road, Belfast
       - Off-Licence of the Year 2006

Watch out for the 'St Patrick's' range of bottle conditioned beers from the locally based Strangford Lough Brewing Company

If you know of others, please email the webmaster so that they can be included on this web site.
